Cabarete Dominican republic Kitesurfing Caribbean

Some of the best kiteboarding is to be found in the laid-back tropical beach town of Cabarete. Due to its reliable winds, beautiful sandy beaches and fun atmosphere it has long been famous as one of the most popular wind sports destinations. Today Cabarete is one of the prime kiteboarding destinations in the world. Its Kite Beach is world wide famous long strech of sandy beach with the protective reef barrier two hundred meters out in the ocean. Here you will find flatter waters, from flat water in light wind to choppy water in strong wind, while waves in the reef are great to play in. There are many beaches to choose from around Cabarete. If Kite Beach is too busy for you – Bozo Beach, located between Kite Beach and Cabarete, with fewer riders might be your favorite. If you are after bigger waves – you will find an ocean swell breaking free at Encuentro Beach, Dominican surfing mecca located 3km. west of Cabarete. If perfectly flat water is what you are looking for – La Boca, a mouth of the river located 6km. east of Cabarete is the place to go. Cabarete is also the perfect place to lay back and work on your tan or sample local Presidente beer in one of the beach-front bars when you’re not out gliding over warm crystal-clear Caribbean waters. If being lazy on the beach is not your thing you may choose to experience one of the many adventure sports: wakeboarding, canyoning, mountain biking, scuba diving, rock climbing. Horse back riding in the rain forests and deserted beaches also available. The beachfront hosts several restaurants, which serve diverse menus. Tasty dishes of both local and international cuisine are available at reasonable prices. Cabarete nightlife is rather active, especially on Friday and Saturday, but you may dance away your night every night at Onoz or Barrio Latino bars.
