Red Bull Lighthouse Leighton Kitesurfing Race

The Red Bull Lighthouse to Leighton, Australia’s longest kitesurfing race, is returning to Perth, Western Australia on Saturday 3 December. 100 competitors, including world number one and three ranked kitesurfers, Rob Douglas from the US and Alex Caizergues from France, will race across the Indian Ocean hoping to break last years record time of just 24 minutes.

Australia’s longest kitesurfing race is returning to Perth, WA for its second year. The Red Bull Lighthouse to Leighton will take off from Rottnest Island on Saturday 3 December, with the finish line at Leighton Beach where spectators can witness all the action from the sand.

Competitors will take off from Rottnest at 2.30pm, and spectators are invited to Leighton Beach to watch them race into the finish line and chase last year’s record time of 24 minutes. Music and entertainment at Leighton will make it a great day at the beach.

One hundred kite surfers including last year’s winner Frenchman Alex Caizergues and current world speed record holder American Rob Douglas will challenge Gage Roads – a race crossing supported by Fremantle Ports.
