Prize giving ceremony for this last day of event. The Deputy and Mayor of Dunkerque was also present to give cups and made a speech about the success of this stage here at Bray Dunes Beach. Lots of people were present: all members of KPWT, all of the riders, sponsors and promoters, as well as the public of Dunkerque, many people on this sunny Sunday afternoon.

The Boardercross competition is a single elimination format. But there are required tricks that every rider should perform per race so it was important to finish every race as no one knew who may or may not have performed the tricks properly. Sliders day today, as decided by race Director, according to wind conditions: 10-12 knots in the morning, sunny weather and lots of people coming on the beach to see the show. After a training session, women started their heats, having 5mn each to perform on the 2 buoys and the slider bars. Lots of backside board-slides and 360s.

Slingshot Sports is the title sponsor of the KB4C fund raising event that features a kite derby Saturday morning August 24th. The Kite Derby is an endurance race from 10:00 am - 5:00pm and Slingshot Sports has donated a 2008 REV kite quiver, kiteboard, travel bag and clothing to the winner of this year's event! Day 7 of the Gard Kitesurf World Cup 2007 started out nicely with the sun in full gear warming up the game venue nicely. The wind was straight onshore and there were indications that it would provide for a racing event in the morning.

Wind dropped a bit for that 2nd day of competition but powerful enough to hold the junior freestyle bracket, with 12 to 15 knots onshore. In final we find Boris JUDIN from Serbia (Airush/Nobile) and Erik VOLPE (Challenger sail), from Italy, who start with a slim chance that he crashes, as Judin send back mobe and switch blind judge that he landed, quite good tricks according to the wind conditions we have. Both did well but finally JUDIN won. Big surprise came from Marvin St Requier (Takoon), as he lost his first heat.
Course racing was also on the program along Bray Dunes’ Beach. Nice show with

The Gard Kitesurf World Cup 2007 is on its 6th day but not much happened except for a action-filled competition during the third day. The absence of the wind had led to several wind delays but the riders are very much in high spirit looking forward to the next events and all fired up to compete against each other and show who’s the best.
