Kiteboarder's dream!!! - Maui, Hawaii (coming soon)
It's is surely one of the most beautiful places on earth. Repeatedly chosen as a favorite island destination by vacationers. And for many years, the prime focus of watersports enthusiasts - like windsurfers, surfers for instance.
This is what originally brought the folks at KITEBOARD.COM to this special place. The wind, and the water.
Well . . . the wind and water are still here . . . and we are still here. But, watersports have changed, and so, our own focus has changed, too.
For now, in addition to the surfers hanging out in the break, and the windsurfers zipping by them, there are high-flying kites powering the latest group to discover Maui's charms - Kiteboarders.
The concept began elsewhere, and grew slowly (see our History page) at first. Kiteboarding really took off about five years ago when Manu Bertin and Laird Hamilton attracted the attention of the Maui water sports crowd. In the last two years or so, the number of high-flyers has increased considerably.
But, what do expect from a place like Maui? That no one should come?
That's not likely, since, even on a dead still day, from the turquoise water, to the lush jungle, to the sub-zrctic crater, the island is one spectacular place to be.
