The VOLT will be released alongside the all new NEXT board in an attractive package. The NEXT is an evolution from the Fluid and 50PRO, with significant gains in smoothness and control thanks to a new concave and the same 2011 board accessories you can find on more advanced boards (Unibox Asymetrical Fins + Platinium Pads & Straps). Both products will be available in the VOLT PACK.These products will be available in April.VOLT:New reinforcements on the leading edge. Allows the leading edge’s seams to not damage the spi fabric when the kite rubs on a hard surface. In navigation, the VOLT gives you confidence because it provides an early and progressive traction during the first meters with a constant power that you can kill at any time. Controlling your speed and keeping your trajectory is excellent. The VOLT fits all wind conditions and has an exceptional range. Thanks to its three struts, the kite is light. The bar control is precise in order to feel the kite tension and its position in the air, but it’s also very forgiving to riders mistakes.Because of its Delta C-Shape concept, the navigation is fluid with a predictable flight behavior. It’s also very stable and offers a fast and efficient auto-relaunch.- 3 struts – Lines setup identical to Bandit 4 – One pump – Shorter EVO bridles to optimize relaunch and safety – ReinforcementsNEXTIn sizes 135cm 140×40cm and 140×42cmThe NEXT is the ultimate freeride board. It adapts to all conditions of wind and sea. Comfortable and forgiving, it offers a quick and fast planning but then retains a reasonable top speed. With its ability to go upwind and always under control, it is suitable for all freeride riders as well as beginners. The large sizes 145 and 150 are specialized boards for ultra light wind. Design Aim: Riders looking for simple, no-fuss performance. The Park is a performance-focused kite condensed into an easy, simple package.

The Park’s three-strut design is stable and responsive. This configuration, combined with a powerful profile and full outline gives the Park the consistent pull of a “C” type kite and the power control of a swept kite.

The swept leading edge positions the wingtips behind the center of the kite, which gives the kite easy relaunch capabilities and maximizes depower.

The “do everything” nature of the Park opens up a huge range of performance options for the rider. It is the perfect tool whether you are focusing on sticking that handle-pass rotation, bashing the lip, or maximizing your freeride time on the water.

The Park is LWR compatible.

The 2011 Naish Park is a completely new hybrid kite for Naish. This is the first non-sigma bridled kite that Naish has made since the Naish Boxer SLE. There are a bunch of new features on the Park, and I am sure that this shape and design will be in the Naish line up for years.

2011 Naish Park Tech

The Park is a 3 strut high performance hybrid kite with a bad ass graphics package. Naish was swinging for the fences with the Park, and they have released a kite that will not let Naish riders down. The construction looks consistent with what we have seen from Naish for the past few years. Strong, but not overbuilt to keep the weight down. The lighter construction translates to a crisp feeling kite in the sky.

The Naish Octopus Inflation system has been changed quite a bit to make the struts a lot easier to change than in years past.

The bridle system is really clean and simple. It has a direct connect rear bridle that can be adjusted for turning speed and bar pressure. I recommend to leave these alone. The leading edge bridle has no pulley and no adjustments. Less is more.

The 2011 Universal Control system is similar in design to the 2010. The main difference is a more aggressive grip. They have skirted the need for a swivel by going with one single center line that splits 1/3rd of the way up the bar. This allows the center safety line to wrap around the center line with out tangling when you spin the bar. Works well so long as you don’t need to bar juggle if the kite inverts.

How does the 2011 Park ride?

At first glance I thought that the 2011 Naish Park was going to be a straight rip off of the Slingshot RPM. With the fat wing tip and 3 strut design, it is easy to make those assumptions. It rode nothing like the RPM. The Park has a totally different feel from the RPM. The main difference is turning speed and the bar feel. The Park is fast turning with a kind of spongy bar feel. It does not give you that direct feel that I was expecting which a lot of the people that tested this kite liked. People that didn’t really like the Slingshot RPM and LF Havoc loved the Naish Park and vice-versa.

The other thing with the Park is that you feel what the wind does. Gust or lull you feel it. Riding the Park is similar to how a high end sports car feels the road beneath you. The wing tips flared a bit which might have added to feeling the gusts. I tested the 8m, 10m, and 12m Park, and I liked the feel a lot more with the line extensions on it. They ate the gusts a little better and made the kite more predictable for me.

Overall, the Naish Park was really impressive high performance hybrid kite. It jumps high, turns on a dime, and rides fast. It is a little dead in the turns and it will be a little over the top for some riders.

Who is the 2011 Naish Park for?

This kite will be best suited for the intermediate to advanced kiter. The fast turning speed cuts out the beginner unless you are really good with your kite control.. Relaunch seems pretty good, so riding in the surf or crashing your kite from doing tricks is not a problem to get the kite off the water. For unhooked riders, this kite takes a bit of adjustment to keep it from back stalling. I just sheeted the strap 1 inch before unhooking and that worked fine.

If you have been riding Naish SLE kites and are looking for more, the Park has more. If you like the 2010 Naish Helix or North Vegas, you will love the performance of the 2011 Naish Park. Take the turning speed of the 2010 Helix, add a punchier feel with light bar pressure and you end up with the 2011 Naish Park.

I guess by now, most of you should have had the experience of riding the ultimate new Ozone Edge2011.I rushed to the beach as soon as I got it yesterday, and today we had 20knots of gusty wind! It was so much fun!

I did pump the kite faster than usual with the new valve for this year! I must say it is nice to inflate without forcing the air through a narrow hose and heating the pump to death! I used to feel sorry for pumps but now ”long live the pumps”.
The new colors and graphic design this year are really warm, flashy and styley. I really like the green, the blue and red also, I like them all!
But most off all I was amazed by the kite so smooth, stable and predictable when I’m in the air, and it boosts my confidence to go bigger!!
If you want to engage kiteloops you will pull off bigger and bigger ones! The Edge has got power and speed in both upwind and downwind direction. It made me stay in the air so much longer than I used to, it’s a total new world of kite, thanks Ozone…you are amazing!
Now I can say the Edge 2011 is the ultimate ride, it is the Ferrari of the kite world!
So, hurry guys, go get your Edge from you Ozone distributor and go out ripping, you will be jumping higher and riding faster than ever before!
So come ride with us!
Cheers Tamatoa

The F-One Acid 3 (III) is for new school freestylers. Short and wide up to the tips, with extreme pop for better jumps and landings. Its double concave will suppress any leg splash and absorb vibrations during high impact landings. The F-One Acid 3 (III) allows sharp edging, great release and insane pop. Light, sharp and responsive under your feet, this board will get you launching huge tricks.

Short and wide all the way to the tips, the F-One Acid 3 (III) produces the best pop, greatly helped by the Dynamic Flex that gives right back the energy loaded during the take off. Well balanced on its rocker line and bottom shape, the Acid 3 (IIII) is designed to facilitate landing and give your body a lesser impact.

The Direct Drive technology with full wood core, with its legendary resistance makes sure you can rely on your board at all times.

New school freestyle is the discipline where attention to the pads is essential. Low kite tricks will put a lot more energy on the landing and our 3D molded Platinium Pads offer incredible comfort and energy diffusion.

The under heel area is made out of two foam density, the top part being softer to absorb the little shocks and the bottom part harder to soak up the big ones!

As I am the Acid Rider from Fone, I will start with presenting my absolute favorite board! The Acid is the board-to-take for the Freestyle oriented rider, who needs high performance, high speed, hard flex and good pop!

Compared to the 2010 model, aside of the new cool graphics, 2 main things were changed: First of all, the new Acid got the same successful carbon X that the old Trax already had. The additional carbon in the center of the board provides less flex in the middle, but more in the tips! This results in a better pop, more control and higher speeds without loosing too much comfort…

Second, the new Acid has, such as all the new 2011 boards, the new patented fin system: The fins are plugged into the board, and not until then fixated with a screw, which does NOT go into the fin. This is totally new, as it allows the fin to be extremely resistant but also way thinner and thereby faster! Furthermore, the fins are assymetrical, and work like an airplane wing. This supports the performance of the new boards a lot!!!

The Acid is not only my choice because of the sick graphics. Its high performance combined with great pop, upwind and early planning makes it one of the best boards on the market, and is my absolute favorite!

Rider: Weight: 62kg

Level: intermediate to advanced

Style:Freestyle

Weather: 12 – 26 knots

Build Quality: 10/10 Satisfaction: 11/10Disclosure; team rider for Adrenalin Rush and north  My Comments: For the last few weeks I have been riding the Vegas non stop in all wind conditions. I was supposed to test the rebel also but they couldn’t get me off the Vagas.  it is a multipoint inflation system but is still quick to pump up and with the multipoint it keeps the kite strong and stable in the air. On first inspection the first thing you notice is the graphics they look awesome!! It has 5 struts and is a really solid construction. It has battens on the wings and smaller ones in the canopy. They have bumper protection all along the leading edge.

PREFORMANCE: First thing you notice is how fast this kite is, I thought my f-one DOS 2 was quick but this makes it look sluggish. It has the power of an 11 but speed of a 9. First run couldn’t help myself had to loop it and I don’t regret it the kite drives through the power zone without stalling and catches you for soft landings.  It is a really stable kite it doesn’t flutter or stall, you can swing it to 12 and it wont over fly and drop out. The Vagas has a solid bar pressure but it wont make your arm feel like their gonna fall off; it has a direct feel to it so you know exactly what’s happening all the time.  unhooking on this kite is where it really excels, you get that consistent power feeling and then when you pop it remains stable the lines get that tiny bit of slack in them and you have no tension for all passes. You always feel powered and in control of the kite. the next day I changed setting to the 2nd setting, the difference between the 2 settings is that the first setting faster and the 2nd setting the kite just sits perfectly for you it has slightly more bar pressure and it really is the perfect freestyle setting and wake style you park it up and unhook and do your trick and it will still be right where you left it.  BAR: the bar is comfortable and the release is out of the road.

The depower isn’t to far away to reach and the bar fully out is still close so your not stretching to get it.  SAFETY: the safety system works a treat. Pull the safety and your kite will fall out and turn around so it is still on the leading edge and relaunchable. It doesn’t tangle or invert but give total depower.  RELAUNCH: the 5th line relaunch system ROCKSS!! Just pull the 5th line then a wing tip and done kites back flying straight away in all winds. 4 line kites can struggle in light winds to relaunch but the vagas just pops off the water with ease.  Overall this kite perform above my expectations, I will defiantly recommend that everyone has ago at this insane kite it will make every rider very happy.

F-ONE BANDIT 4, 12M, REVIEW IN LIGHT WIND CONDITION

First thing I noticed is that it felt like a small kite when I took it out of the bag. It is light. |

Bandit 4 size 12, Lens Jim Hopkins

I finally got my first session on my Bandit 4.

First thing I noticed is that it felt like a small kite when I took it out of the bag. It is light. Once I started inflating it, it turned into a bigger and bigger kite. This is a big 12! Looking at the details: the construction is awesome and the kite is well finished. The reinforcements are good. There are two connector choices on the back lines.

It inflates really easily and the one pump works like a charm. A pleasant surprise right here—the new inflating valve has a stopper ball! It took a few years for F-One, but they finally listened to the general feedback. So you really don’t need to get out your gloves when you inflate your kite on a cold beach. There are no zip ties on the one-pump valves and minus two struts, suddenly you cut a lot of weight off the kite. If you compare it to the B3, the B4 is a race-car. Reduced weight.
So, I am self-launching the kite – there is no one else on the beach. I choose to drift launch. While the kite is drifting I am looking out on the water and don’t see any white caps. Well, I think, this is the true test. The kite drifts into the power window. I pull the back line and it is in the air. That was easy. The wind is light, maybe too light. 12 gusting 14. And I am on a small board. I wondered if I would even be able to float. From the first dive I am out… cruising and going faster and faster. The kite generates a constant pull and has a lot of grunt. I realized that the B4 delivers most of its power when it is parked at 11:15 instead of at 11:00, like the B3. My impression is that the 2010 13m B3 flies a bit further in the wind window but delivers a little less power. I looked up at the kite while riding. It felt like a delta, but it looks a lot like a C with its squared tips. Although the Delta angle is the exact same between the 2010 and 2011 version; I actually got confirmation of that. There is constant pull and no lag on the bar feedback.
Onto turning — I went out on a 55 cm bar and later on a 45. For sure the bigger bar helps a lot. The kite turns much faster, and there is a lot less bar pressure. Of course on the 45 cm bar, turning will be slower, but even then the kite delivers constant power. The feeling I have on the turns is very direct. You pull and the kite it is already where you want it to be. If you are not careful that can generate a little bit of lift in the transition. The wind picked up a little more.
Onto jumping — it takes a little time to get used to jumping on the kite. Yeah, here is where it feels different than the B3. You load and pop and expect the same lift like on the B3. Well, you do get the same lift and a little moooooore hang time… actually a lot more. If you are not careful it’s really easy to over steer the kite, but due to the hang-time, you still have time to correct the position of the kite and land safely. Not a lot of wind today to jump, but still I got enough lift and hang time. The kite is super stable and even when the lines are slack it doesn’t Hindenburg.
Onto top end — Not enough wind today day to test the top end of the kite, but I feel certain that I can take it out in the mid 20s. This 12-meter for sure will be my light-wind kite. I know that I might even be able to get away with just an 11. I ended up the session in a beautiful sunset with a smile on my face!

Yesterday was about 15-16kts i stopped at my local shop and grabbed a demo SB 2011 11m kite to take it for a spin.

1st thing i noticed was the bag improvement, now they have the board straps back again, something that i definitely missed from the last years… also the colour of the bag changed and not matched the colour of the kite… or at least wasn’t black, [i haven't seen the other kite colours yet].

The kite looks awesome! the material seems a lot more resistant and light, looking at photos online i was kind of put off but the colours but looking it on the day light, the cabrinha camo style looks awesome!!!…

few things changed on the new model, the back lines now have only 1 attachment point and a little stabilising batten right at the tip of the wing…

the sprint inflation system looks more refined with a hose sleeve that goes all the way along the hose now…

in the air, the kite looks small compared to a 12m SB, but it’s heaps faster and stable, so it’s easy to generate power with it… in the beginning it felt a bit under power, compared to my 12m but it was just a matter to get used to it, [be in mind the wind was pretty light and the tide wasn't helping much ether...]

But i definitely can see this is going to be a really fun kite when the wind is around 18-20 knots… good kite for waves too as it turns supper fast.

the bar is a bit different this year, they added a spring to keep the de-power straps at reach without having that clip on the centre line, that you have to adjust down every time you let the bar go, now the spring will always push those straps down…

the little balls on the straps seem a fraction bigger, i didn’t compared to my ones, but if they are, it will be easier to hold and pull down on windy days…

the lines on the bar are different, they look more stiff and tangle free, but they won’t create kinks on it if you bend them…

Relaunch was really easy like all the cabrinha kites, but i was kite impressed even on light wind like yesterday i didn’t had any problems with it…

I was out for about 1hr, and i had a lot of fun with it, just wish the wind was a fraction stronger… so i could try some jumps and stuff…

SBC KITEBOARDING BANDIT 3 REVIEW

SBC Kiteboard was invited to the distributor meeting in Mauritius, 800 km off the east coast of Madagascar. |

SBC Kiteboard was invited to the distributor meeting in Mauritius, 800 km off the east coast of Madagascar. Over six days we tested the Bandit 3 in flatwater to waves in sizes 6m to 13m sizes, with twin-tips and waveboards.

The Bandit 3 is as the name suggests, the third generation F-One delta kite, and is a highly refined kite for all conditions, a do-anything, high-performance kite. What s New Refined C-like Delta shape, F-One exclusive chicken-loop, wing tip geometry, bridle configuration, F-One exclusive pulleys, one-pump system.Bar Setup and Safety Systems • Simple 4-line configuration with mini fifth line.

New F-One chicken-loop has an integrated one-side Velcro quick release.  Bar end floats cover a series of knots allowing back-line tension to be tuned and a stainless spinner keeps the front lines from being tangled.  Above-the-bar depower.On-Water Performance The new Bandit 3 benefits from a new higher aspect ratio and new wing-tip geometry. The kite flies far forward in the wind, has nice low bar pressure, requires very little travel in the bar to depower the kite and has tons of high-end. The direct rear line connections combined with the smooth depower offers good power through turns and ensures the rider always knows where the kite is. For freestyle performance the kite is smooth and is easily trimmed to be super stable when unhooked.

Wave performance is also excellent; the kite is easily depowered and parked for down-the-line performance or sheeted-in and turned hard in less-than-ideal wave conditions. Overall wind range is excellent, while care should be taken not to oversheet and stall the larger sizes in light winds, the kites have great low-end. Tons of depower is smoothly delivered, all with minimal bar travel. Tested side-by-side with a Bandit Dos testers found the new Bandit 3 to have way, way more top-end, much lower bar pressure, and to require far less travel in the bar to control the kite s power. Overall the new Bandit 3 is a massive step up from the already well reviewed Bandit Dos and should be a winner for F-One.

Reality Check Now in their third season F-One delivers a refined and extremely versatile Delta kite and as such it’s hard to find fault in it. The kites tested were not 100 per cent finished product, and some minor bridle modifications were being made, which may explain in part why in light winds, particularly with larger sizes, it’s possible to get the Bandit 3s to oversheet and fly backward. While generally quite reliable, relaunch can also be finicky in lighter winds. Bottom Line The Bandit 3 is an incredibly versatile kite that suits the needs of any rider from advanced freestyle to dedicated waverider. ItÂ’s versatility combined with the high levels of depower and massive wind range means the Bandit 3 could also suit a beginner who wants to start the sport with a high-quality kite that they will not grow out of.

OVERRIDE™ 2

The Override method of depower has become the preferred choice from seasoned pros to

1st time riders. It doesn’t get any easier than this. Just place the control bar in the Override

mode and the kite will immediately begin to depower and drop from the sky. With Override

you can avoid many accidents before they happen by maintaining control of the power of

your kite at all times.

The Override 2 stopper unit provides a place to rest your control bar if you’d like to unspin

your lines. When the Override stopper unit is seated on its sleeve you can temporarily let

go of the control bar and unspin your lines. To place the bar into Override mode you can

simply push past the stopper unit and the kite will immediately begin to depower and fall

from the sky.

The Crossbow has one of the widest wind ranges in our kite offering. The efficiency of this

kite led to the concept of the “two kite quiver” — where two kites will handle the needs of

most riders. A situation where less is definitely more.

The performance in the Crossbow 3

comes from the flatter, Pro Span™

Extreme arc and its fast flying pro-

control of the power comes from

the Crossbow’s ability to depower

on demand. You can fully depower

the kite at anytime just by placing the bar into the Override™ mode.

Made to withstand the rigors of everyday abuse, the new durable construction of the Crossbow

3 lets you ride with confidence knowing your kite is up to the task. If you are looking for

high hangtime, trick riding, or just freeriding, the Crossbow 3 is the kite for you.

DuRabIlIty Lightweight durable solutions

The entire canopy of the Crossbow is flat seamed and taped prior to sewing. This is 20%

stronger than the free hand sewn method of a top stitch. We have reinforced the high load

areas of the Crossbow with a transitionally weighted material. This strategically placed

material acts as a buffer zone between the rigid strut areas and the canopy.

We’ve also reinforced our Leading Edge and Strut seams with additional layers of material

and adhesive mark cloth.

SPRINt™ SINGlE POINt INFlatION

Ease of use has reached a whole new level with the addition of Sprint™ – our unique single

is mechanical instead of friction-based. It makes

re-setting Override onto its sleeve a snap. Literally!

The external shape of Override 2™ accomplishes two

things. First, the new ergonomics allow for a much better

grip on the fitting when re-setting it onto its sleeve.

Secondly the design integrates the CAS Power Adjusters

for a much cleaner and more streamlined operation

of the kite’s trim. We’ve added elastic to the Power

Adjusters so that they maintain positive tension no matter

where they are positioned.

P

OWER ADJUSTERS

The CAS line extenders keep the adjustment of the centerline

adjustment strap within easy reach at all time.

The added bungee in the line helps to keeps the extenders

free from tangling with your leaders by keeping

them parallel with the centerline.

SOFTENED EVA GRIP

We have reduced the diameter of the control bar and

have softened the EVA grip for a more hand friendly feel.

Lets face it, power is nothing without control. Thats

why the Crossbow comes with our top of the line Powerdrive

2N1 control system. The Powerdrive 2N1 control

system is a 2:1 pulley system that increases the effects

of your steering and depowering input. For the amount

of distance you move the control system you effectively

double the reaction on the kite. This creates precision

control and puts you in charge of your kite at all times.

FORGED ALLOY CENTER SECTION

The Powerdrive 2N1 control system now implements

our new forged alloy center section with an expanded

entry and exit opening for the depower line. This

feature increases the ease of bar movement over the

depower line even at extreme angles.
